Wine Museum in Prešov

Wine Museum in Prešov is the unique - more than 500 years old cellar beneath the historic town hall. These facilities were built for the needs of urban medieval taverns, but later there were set up a prison and torture chamber. Today we can admire the exhibition of wines from around the world counting more than 2000 species. In this exposure are, of course, also represented all Slovak wine growing areas. Particular attention is paid to the Tokay viticulture. Besides the wines, the museum exhibits also machines related to the production technology of this inebriating beverage, such as presses, barrels, bottles or pumps of diverse shapes and sizes. The museum and tasting room and shop, where the visitors can taste and purchase the exhibited wines.
