Botanical Garden of P.J. Šafárik in Košice

Botanical Garden of P.J. Šafárik in Košice is located at the foot of the hills on the northern outskirts of the city and is the largest botanical garden in Slovakia. With the number of 4,000 kinds of plants it is also ranked among the top departments of its kind in Central Europe. One of the biggest attractions of the garden is a unique collection of cacti and succulents, counting about 1200 pieces. Particularly attractive is the exhibition of orchids, carnivorous plants and other exotic flora in a large greenhouse, beautifully landscaped exterior part with decorative vegetation and sprawling park.
