Hámor in Medzev

Hámor is a historic forge that uses running water as a power source. There were many of these workshops in Slovakia, especially the many of them were, however, was Nižný Medzev. Medzev blacksmiths were considered the best in Hungary and they supplied the entire country with their hoes, shovels, axes, scythes and horseshoes. Medzev Hámor, one of the still standing, may be still visited. As a living technical memory it is maintained and made available by the Slovak Technical Museum.
