Rodošto - Memorial House of Francis II. Rákoczi

Francis II. Rákoczi was the leader of the largest anti-Habsburg uprising in Hungary. After initial success of this uprising - despite the fact that our most famous outlaw Juraj Jánošík fought in it - it ran aground and after a defeat Francis ran to exile in Turkey. Memorial House in Košice is a replica of his exile dwelling in the Turkish city Rodošto. An exhibition devoted to the rebel and his life in exile. In addition to contemporary weapons, historical Turkish furniture, Rákóczi family portraits or objects of personal property of Francis II. the visitors can admire a large dining room, whose elements were made personally by Francis II. Perhaps if he did not choose the winding path of an outlaw but a craft path, he would not be lost in the world.
NOTE: During the visit of Rodošto the visitors can also make a tour of the adjacent Košice casemates and the House of Crafts.
