Mining Museum in Banská Štiavnica

A unique open-air museum of the Slovak Mining Museum in Banská Štiavnica is located in the picturesque valley about 1km to the west of the town. The oldest and biggest exposition of mining in Slovakia presents a comprehensive view of the evolution of mining in Central Europe from the Middle Ages to the late 20th century. It includes a unique guided tour of original underground mining premises that visitors equipped with a helmet, coat and lamp may experience.
